Frequently Asked Questions About TAS
| What is the Traveler's Access Service (TAS)? | Keeping in touch with an office on the other side of the world is now almost as easy as calling from next door. Thanks to CGNET's popular "Travelers' Access Service", travelers have simple and reliable access to e-mail, calendar, folders, and other data back at the office. Simply by clicking on an icon on their laptops, users can bring up a phone book of local access numbers in over 100 countries worldwide, making logging on quick and convenient. TAS is easier to install and configure than the Windows dial-up networking component, and its phone book of local access numbers is automatically updated. Users simply choose their location, and a few clicks later find themselves connected just as if they were sitting at their own desks--even when they are thousands of miles away. CGNET now supports the use of both Outlook and Outlook Express with TAS. Incoming e-mail messages are archived for at least 2 weeks, providing an additional backup in the event an important document is lost or accidentally deleted. In addition, if one isn’t traveling with a laptop computer or finds theirs lost or damaged, e-mail messages can still be retrieved from a web browser on any Internet-connected computer available, via "Outlook Web Access." Through TAS, your office virtually goes with you, wherever you go. |
