Linux Systems Engineer
CGNET Services International is looking for an energetic self-starter who enjoys the challenges and rewards of a small company environment to join its Network Services group as Linux Systems Engineer
We are looking for a seasoned Linux systems engineer to be responsible for our Linux infrastructure. The candidate should have a good knowledge of the SMTP protocol and Sendmail or Exim software. This position requires covering system alerts during on-call periods.
This is a full-time position with benefits, including health, 401(k), performance incentives and profit sharing. Salary will be determined on the basis of qualifications and experience.
Responsibilities Include:
- Configure, administer and secure our email infrastructure under Linux servers
- Develop scripts to monitor the servers and the email programs
- Maintain our radius authentication infrastructure
- Help clients with open source projects
- Help maintain DNS servers and services
- Advise clients with networking, routing and email related issues
Position Requirements
- A completed undergraduate degree in a computer or math- related field
- Strong experience with Red Hat and/or Debian Linux
- Strong knowledge of the SMTP protocol
- An understanding of the open source community and familiarity with the functioning of basic open source software packages like Apache, MySQL.
- Shell scripting skills
- Attention to detail
- Strong self-motivation, willingness to follow instructions, and good communications skills

System Administrator/Data Center Engineer, Network Operations Group
The Network Operations Group is in charge of managing the data center and providing 27/7 network monitoring and user support.
Responsibilities include:
- Day-to-day support of the LAN and WAN at CGNET's NOC including Microsoft Windows servers and Linux servers
- Installing, configuring and upgrading networking gear, such as routers, switches and firewalls
- Installing, configuring and upgrading computer servers, so they can be deployed in our data center
- Maintenance of anti-virus software, backups, DNS, and network monitoring tools
Requirements:
- Degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science or a related field.
- 3+ years solid experience as a systems administrator in a Microsoft Windows environment supporting more than 50 users
- Superb communication skills / the ability to interface well with all levels in the organization and with customers.
- Strong customer-service orientation
- Good team player
- Willingness to support customers and monitor network functions at all hours as needed to help maintain CGNET's 24x7 operation. Off hours on-call responsibilities
Desirable:
- Experience with installation, administration and maintenance of Microsoft Active Directory and Exchange 2003.
- Familiarity with VMWare and/or MS Virtual Server.
- Experience with Unix/Linux configuration and administration.
